API versions

Each version of the API is named by its release date. The current version is 2026-10-05, and every account is pinned to a version.

Name the version in a request​

Send Hometown-Version with the version your integration was written for:

Every answer carries Hometown-Version with the version that answered. Any version other than the one your account is pinned to answers 400 with the code invalid_request.

What changes inside a version​

A version only gains changes that cannot break an integration: new fields, new optional parameters and clearer text. The changelog lists each one.

When a new version ships​

The changelog will say what changes and how to move your account to it.
